Thank you for your interest in Team-Based Communication!
We offer two complementary training options in Team-Based Communication, both aimed at full-time YWAMers actively serving others through their ministry roles. Both programs are available in Spanish, English, and Portuguese. Please read the following descriptions to understand how the programs differ, to consider what is the right place for you.

The Team-Based Communication Seminar

Is a six-week fully-online program running from April 25 – June 03, 2022. If you love the topic but are not sure you are ready for masters-level academic work, this is a great entry point. This intensive course (20-25 hours per week) introduces team communication – intercultural, interpersonal, and organizational communication – as well as academic research and writing. This course is highly recommended as an introduction to the MA in Team-Based Communication, or can be taken as a stand-alone for those who simply cannot give two years to the full MA program. This fully-online course involves live classroom interaction as well as assigned reading, discussion groups, and academic writing exercises. The program fee is $200 USD. Applicants must be graduates of the DTS, full-time YWAM staff, with a minimum of four years in YWAM (including time spent in schools).

The MA in Team-Based Communication

Is 22 months long, running from Sept 19, 2022 to June 28, 2024. From start to finish you share the learning journey with the same cohort of students and staff. This hybrid program combines on-line learning with four in-person intensives (each one is eight days long) to be hosted in South America. Participants engage an online platform at least weekly during the whole program, responding to assigned readings and discussing course content as they integrate new insights with past experience. Candidates should expect to give 15 hours a week for the duration of this course. Master’s level research and writing builds through the coursework and culminates in a final capstone or thesis project related to an area of passion in the student’s life. The MA program fee of $6200 USD ($1475 USD per module plus a $300 USD registration fee) includes registration, tuition, and the food and housing for the on-site intensives. Airfare, airport transportation, and textbooks are not included.

Applicants for the MA program must be full-time YWAM staff with a minimum of five years in YWAM, including time spent as a student. A Bible Core Course or equivalent is required, or can be arranged online. Bachelor’s degree or equivalent is required (exceptions to this requirement are encouraged to apply and will be considered).
